1. Christmas music literally makes this season sing. Every year a new song seems to become my favorite depending on what kind of year it has been (the Waitresses Christmas Wrapping topped most of my 20s, tbh, though!). Since this year we can’t really travel to all the places we would love to this time of year, I made a hippo cookie to remind me of many wonderful Christmas time visits to the Met in NYC.  They have a carved hippo ornament there that just pops with color and personality and reminds me of all the wonderful, beautiful things in that city at Christmas.  The shops along 5th Avenue, usually not really my cup of tea, transform into a gilded fairy tale land; with windows really opening up new worlds, packed with stories and scenes, and of course, luxury items for sale.  But they are more magic than commercial to me, and when there is a bit of snow on the ground and a hot cocoa in your hand there is nothing more perfect than being in NYC for Christmas. Today, why not make a cookie inspired by your favorite christmas song?  Or make your own home movie video with your song in the background (as long as it is not grandma got run over by a reindeer).  Make a new tradition this crazy year, or even make up your own, new song!

A cookies that arre fun to make while listening to a good beat are pressed cookies! Using a cookie press can feel like a workout, so might as well play some good music while you do it!  I love my Marcato press (maybe, ok of course, because it is pink!), and it is the simplist one i have ever used,

and it came with a fun and easy recipe for pressed cookies.  I also am posting my grandma’s spritz cookie recipe because it really is melt in your mouth good, like every cookie she ever. made.  Enjoy!
