Halloween countdown day 26, frothy magic brews and david "brewy"
What kid and witch does not love bubbling, foaming, color changing delicious, magical drinks? These color changing floats are a blast- they are just at home in a dark sorcerer’s magic castle or a fun 4th of July bar-b-que. What other treat offers such versatility? And they are a very kid friendly mix of sweet ice cream, fizzy pop and puckering kool aid. This is basically an elixir for the grade school set! And it could not be easier!
This dark magic drink deserves a movie that is just as packed with atmosphere as it is. Labyrinth might not be a typical Halloween movie, but it is pretty creepy fun- the set design and the ferocious muppets make you feel like you are right there in the labyrinth with Jennifer Connelly, trying to rescue your little brother from the Goblin King. And yes, while like every other person on the planet I adore David Bowie, I also have to admit he can be a bit..otherworldly. Also, eighties hair, always scary! This movie reminds me to be careful what you wish for and that goblin kings throw the best balls. Pun somewhat intended.
magic brew/ festive floats
Ingredients
- 1 envelope kool aid (grape is most halloweenish!) (blues and reds are great for 4th of July)
- 1 scoop ice cream
- 1 bottle ginger ale
Instructions
- pour kool aid into a clean, dry glass (it will be whitish- and only gains color when wet!)
- place scoop of ice cream over powder
- dramatically pour ginger ale and say a magic incantation if halloween, pledge of allegiance if for 4th of July. whatever "floats" your boat
