Candied Figs

Prep Time 25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 pint figs, sliced
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 c water

Instructions

  • heat sugar and water until sugar dissolves and it starts to boil
  • add sliced figs and simmer for 20 minutes until liquid gets thicker- the longer you simmer the more gummy the figs will be and thicker the liquid will be

these can be used in christmas puddings, to decorate cakes or wrapped in prosciutto on a charcuterie board.
the syrup is divine in cocktails, brushed over cakes or added to sparkling water.
